Our Story
Hey friend hey! I am Mon Cheri of Mon Cheri’s Passions. It feels really good to be able to say that. If you have ever birthed a business, you know exactly what I mean.
Now, “Our story” – that’s such an endearing phrase. Mon Cheri’s Passions has definitely been a solo venture on paper, but it was not built alone. It was built by the sum of my experiences and every member of my community that has supported me throughout any give season of my entire life. It was built with purpose, with the heart of you, the heart of me, the heart of us in mind. It was built as a form of resistance to say, “NO, I don’t have to stay in one lane. I am multi-talented and I will not sleep on my talents.” This vision, this choice to live more out loud has been blessed by the spirit of my ancestors and I am so looking forward to watching it grow. It was also built with love and their legacy in mind. We must no longer hide our potential and who we are behind circumstances, perceived mistakes, age, race, social constructs, the expectations of others and anything else deemed a roadblock. We must bring what we’ve learned in shadow to the light, allowing it to shine bright for all of the world to see, with the likeness of a flower sprouting up through the concrete. May my family’s legacy be forever changed. May my ancestors be forever honored in this.
With that being said, Mon Cheri’s Passions was birthed during a time when the risk to remain tight in the bud became much more painful than the risk it took to blossom. After navigating a series of big challenges in my life, including confronting the whispers of my past, my passion became a promise to myself. A promise to step fully into me, with all of my talents, all of my gifts, all of my pain, all of my joy, all of my well-earned gems and to integrate them. A promise to embody the sum of my experiences in a way that yields the sweetest fruit and to help others do the same, even as I continue to grow and expand.
I am not your average coach or consultant. I am very much just me. Truthful, raw, loving, compassionate, intuitive, empathetic, a force, seeing beneath the surface, getting through to the heart of the matter. For me, the matter is this: we are multifaceted and it’s about damn time we start acting that way. Your today does not have to be your tomorrow. To move forward in our personal lives, our businesses, our ventures, our communities, we must be healthy, whole, and energized. That is why my work, the work of Mon Cheri’s Passions, whether through coaching, consulting, poetry, literature, you name it — is dedicated to building others up so they can learn, create, lead, and produce from their overflow. When our cups run over, everything we touch flourishes, from our careers to our homes, from our connections to our visions.
Mon Cheri’s Passions is a huge advocate for embracing and unlocking all that we are and all that we can be, cultivating that in a way that feels like coming home.
